As a discount retailer, the ALDI Nord Group has always focused on the essentials. Clear structures and fast processes are part of our business model. To become even faster and more efficient, we are using the benefits of digitalisation and automation. When doing so, we also focus on our internal customers. To be able to spend more time with value-generating tasks, we are using robotic process automation to standardise repeating process steps. A good example of this is the monitoring of all the relevant IT platforms via bots. Around the clock, seven days a week, the bot queries all SAP systems, checkout software, the online shops and other IT platforms at regular intervals. To do so, the bot logs into the respective systems and autonomously performs (trans)actions – just like the end user would do. This allows us to identify and resolve technical problems or discrepancies in good time.
